Is it possible to retrieve browsing history from Google Chrome?

There is a way. However, you wouldn't be able to save passwords or any type of data either. To configurethis, go to the wrench menu (upper left corner of the browser, next to the favorites star) and click "newi ncognito window" (third option in the menu) and all the websites you visit on that window will not have been saved in the history. You have to choose this option everytime you use google chrome and BEFORE you start opening websites, other wise the websites will be saved in the history. I hope that helps!

No, you can only backup the browsing history to Google Sync, not in the program files itself.

If you didn't back that information up and you formatted your hard drive, it is very difficult to retrieve that information again unless you give your hard drive to a company that specializes in data retrieval (this costs anywhere from $5,000 - $20,000 - yes - thousands of dollars)



If you have and use a Google account (i.e. Gmail, YouTube, etc), then you can check your web history by going to your dashboard (see second link below). This history is only made available on the particular Google account you are logged into. So, if you never log into a Google account, there will not be a history page for you to view.
