I was just wondering how google makes so much money if its just a search engine?

Aha, it's much more than a search engine. It also advertises pay per click and that's where they make their money. some advertisers have to pay $5.00 - $10.00 per click on their google ads.



Yahoo also makes money the same way...

People pay Goggle to have their ads featured. Goggle also owns many popular sites, like Youtube.
