Why have adult sites been suddenly blocked?

Usually, adult sites aren't blocked :D However, when I tried to go on something earlier, it came up with, 'Parental control: Pornography blah blah blah...'. The thing is, my computer is protected with non-traceable passwords, I always delete history, cache and cookies etc. I've never been caught beating the bishop (I'm 100% certain) So why suddenly have my parents put up this blocked access stuff? Do they suspect and assume? Or do you think they could have found evidence to come to a conclusion? Opinions please :D

Broadband providers are being encouraged to promote blocking of adult sites by the government but the government wont make it compulsory as there would be outcry over internet censorship. It's most likely just that they suggested it to your parents either by email or snail mail & they agreed.

The only thing you can do is get your own net connection. If you have a recent apple or android phone you may be able to create a wireless access point for your laptop to connect to, or you could buy a 3G dongle. Either way you're gonna need a decent data tariff. The next problem is that most pay as you go tariffs will also block adult sites by default as they do not ask proof of age when you buy them. I had a 3G dongle like this & complained as it was blocking all sorts of stuff (not just adult) & was really hobbled. They told me to take ID to the shop & I told them I didn't have a local shop & the product wasn't fit for purpose. They then caved in & unlocked it for me.
