Is Bing getting better than Google?

I've always been a Google user, but I'm thinking of switching to Bing because:
-Bing Maps is better than Google maps
-It is associated and directly linked to Microsoft (therefore Windows)
-I love the color blue and Bing has a blue logo
-It has a nice metro app for Windows 8
-Completely replaces Yahoo! News for me, too (I only use Yahoo for news and answers).

Are there any downsides of switching to Bing?

note: I don't really use most Google services. The only service from Google that I use is Google Translate. From Microsoft, I use SkyDrive, Maps, News and Hotmail currently. From Yahoo I use the Answers website. I think Bing would be best for me.

In years to come, do you think Bing will replace Google as the top search engine?

Do you work for Microsoft? You seem to be pushing all the latest M$ technology.

Bing is equally bad and I can't see it replacing Google anytime soon. People "google" things, they don't "bing" them. Who cares about the colours? Speed and accuracy is all people care about on search engines. And NOBODY cares about Metro!

When Google went down for 5 minutes last weekend internet traffic dropped by over 40% - see http://www.computing.co.uk/ctg/news/2289726/google-goes-down-for-five-minutes-internet-activity-plunges-40-per-cent?wt.mc_ev=click

I can't imagine traffic would drop by even 5% if Bing went down, so no, Bing isn't going to replace Google any time soon.

If you want a really different search engine try https://duckduckgo.com/ - fast search, no adverts and your search information doesn't go into Google's or Microsoft's database.

As for Bing maps being better than Google Maps - get real!

Microsoft is keeping google on their toes.

Bing is eating away at googles marketshare, and google is afraid to let windows phone users have any google apps because it is not the default search engine on windows phone.

Use whatever search engine you want, they both get you to the same place eventually

Google maps is far better than bing maps though in the US at least, you can type in the name of a place and get more accurate directions than bing where you usually need a specific address.

I've noticed that they're the same.
