My husband s yahoo-account has the same problem, he can compost, sent mail, and able to receive mail but the overlay message stay on all Mail page; inbox/sent/draft/compost. Follow Ben s suggestion : we logged in our other yahoo accounts on the same PC, this overlay message didn t appear on other accounts. Then we tried log in on Chrome, IE, MS-Edge, only that account has the overlay message. Then, we tried log in using Mail app on cell phone and iPad, there is no overlay message on that account. Next, we are going to try on laptops, and will let you know. I wonder, that account has been hacked, or on the list that yahoo wants to test some tracking cookies or mail service with google. What do you think?? would that be possible?

How are you accessing your Yahoo email? It could be the browser, your PC, or your yahoo email. If you are not accessing it through a web browser, try accessing it with a web browser such as Chrome. You will want to try opening it on multiple web browsers to rule out a web browser issue. If it doesn't work on any browser such as chrome, IE, or firefox; then you rule out the browser being the cause. If it is the browser, try resetting it to default. If it works on another PC, then we can determine that it is your PC that is having the issue. If it does this on more than one PC, we can rule out your PC being the issue and try contacting Yahoo's email support. The message is referring to imap, which is the protocol for inbound email. One of the imap appears to be mapping google.

I see it also--multiple browsers and multiple PC's. I tried to post a png and a jpg of my screen, but I'm unable. The error message says "We are experiencing some problems, please try again."

An update--suddenly the text is gone. One PC--three browsers (IE, Chrome & Firefox) all look fine. I'll check my laptop at home next.

I'm having the same problem, going across the entire screen, almost obscuring the email command functions (compose, archive, move, delete, etc.) The problem is the same regardless of browser and with no luck emptying caches or resetting the browser. I can still use my email but it's like pushing buttons through a fog.

Experiencing same problem, not browser-related (shows up in Chrome, Firefox, and IE), not related to specific laptop (shows up on personal and work laptop). It started several days ago, real annoying.

I had the same issue. I used the yahoo fix request, https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?page=contact&locale=en_US&y=PROD_MAIL_ML#, got an email response "We didn't detect any system issues.", and then when I went back into my mail, the script was gone. If it's driving you nuts just switch back to "BASIC" settings until yahoo gets their S*#! together. Hope that helps.

Somebody hacked into your account and ****ed it up so much you can never use it.

Email accounts are free get one from another company.

i see this too, anyone find a solution? I found a temporary solution of manually removing it under "Inspect Element" and deleting the string, but this does not fix it when you refresh the page.
