I have been hearing about and reading a bit about how many people design a website from a home computer about just about anything and with adds they place on the websites, they make a profit from people clicking on the adds that are posted on the website. I know I have read about "Google" adds being the most popular adds to go with, but there are many out there that will pay one money, if a "web"ster goes to the site via ones own. And, placing the add is absolutely free? So, my question is, does anyone know which domain one must have, if any, to make money from adds. Also, how does one put the add on to the website and make money from the company to which they are advertising?

All you have to do is register Domains, make your own Website, and join Google AdSense, in this situation Google places their ads on your site, and whenever some person clicks on these ads you get paid by Google.

You share in the revenue with Google. I mean you are only making pennies anytime some clicks on your ad, but imagine if you had a whole lot of sites.

I suggest you make a site which is meaningful, so you get visitors, because without visitors you make hardly any money at all. This site can have Google Ads, and obviously a smart site that draws a good crowd will make you money when they click on your ads.

Some good sites have their own sponsor ads or links on their sites, which generate income when a user goes to their site via yours. The payment plan depends on your deal with that company. It could be on CPC basis or even a percentage of their purchase price.

This is like any other business, you have to do some work, so that your site gets noticed. If you enjoy the internet then try it, I find it a lot of fun. Visit my site and see if we can help you at all. Opt-in to our e-mail and receive free information. We also have a blog you can contribute to, we would like to hear from anyone here with their ideas.

I guess you could start with a 3 or 4 sites, the cost is so minimal, it is almost worth it. See what happens. Foxtrot Domains even gives FREE Hosting when you buy a Domain from us.

Hi Lisa!

I am doing just what you describe with Google Adsense! I have set up a blog that describes what I am doing to get my site going.

Yes, a Google Adsense account is free to you. Once you have your ads placed on your web page you get paid per viewer click on the ad.

You can go to http://www.MyScienceWebsite.net and read what I have accomplished so far. I pretty much give the low down nitty gritty details of what it is like for the web novice to undertake such a project. And, I provide some helpful links and tips. And, you'll see how I've placed my ads.

After reading the home page, click on 'View My Journal" near the top right of the page. You'll see my next blog post about what has happened to my site the last couple days.

And, keep checking back. I'll be telling the whole tale with as much useful detail as possible. Give me your feed back.

Also, be sure to go to Google Adsense and click around on their site. They're the experts at their own product.

Good luck to you!

I’m using a great online company called Sitesell. This is the very first time I have ever built a website, so I needed a company who could take me by the hand, step by step!

I have nothing but praise for them! They make EVERYTHING so easy! They supply all of the online training, simple (yet incredibly sophisticated tools) and excellent support.

There is small annual hosting fee to pay but that includes all of the above plus your domain registration. They even supply the templates for designing your site! And don't worry about html coding or other techy stuff as that's all taken care of for you!

My site is only 18 months old. but It’s already very highly ranked by the major search engines and is attracting more than 30,000 visitors a month…..and rising! Plus it generates a substantial income (mainly from Google AdSense) which not only well exceeds the costs, but actually shows a very healthy profit!

You can get more details from my information page at:
