Why won't my Kindle Fire open a certain webpage?

My Kindle Fire used to open my gmail page, but now it gets stuck loading on the same spot, and forces the browser to restart. When the browser restarts, the same problem occurs. I prefer to use the internet in the desktop format in order to do google chat. However, when I switch the setting to mobile, my email loads. Is there any way that I can view my email in desktop format? It used to work, but in the past two weeks it has not. I have cleared the cache already, and that didn't work. However, a different gmail account loads like normal.
