Why won't GMAIL let me delete the Gmail Account?

Question

I am at the Gmail Delete Email Account Page which I found by going here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=8152 and I checked "Yes, I want to permanently delete the Email Address and remove it from my Google Account." but when I click "Remove GMAIL" it refreshes the screen and puts my personal connecting email address/password in the "New email address" bars.

When I allow my personal email/password to remain in the fields and click "Remove GMAIL", it again just refreshes to the Gmail Delete Email Account Page.

I've copy/pasted what it says but changed the email addresses for privacy.

What could I POSSIBLY be doing wrong?

I clicked "Yes", I filled in the fields then clicked "Remove GMAIL" and it doesn't remove the account.

I'm afraid if I mess with it too much, I might accidently delete my primary personal email address, which I connected to this business email account incase we lost the password.

Can anyone help me?
