Are you trying to get the toolbar from the Mozilla Firefox addon website, or are you trying to get it from Google's website?

I recommend you get it from the Firefox addon site because they have the older version of the toolbar and it works fine, but in the new version on Google's site has a few bugs in it.

Incase you wasn't already, you should get it from here.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6249

Just click add to firefox, then click allow if you have to. Then click install. After you click restart firefox the toolbar should be there.

You should know that if you do install the old version, the toolbar will check every couple of days for an update, and it will upgrade you to the latest version (the bugged up version).

To stop this I deleted the file called GoogleUpdaterService.exe.

This file can be found in Program files/Google/Google Updater/Common

I hope this helps.

usually when you download a temp file is set up before install the temp file might be corrupt , use ccleaner to cleanup the temp file and the registry option to remove it from the registry, the one you try to install might not be compatible to firefox 3.5.5, look for the latest google toolbar at the google web site
