Question:
Live Satellite Imagery?

I was just wondering if there was anything like Google Earth, Google Maps, Bing Maps, or something like that except live. It would kind of be cool to see what's going on around our Earth at the same time. If anybody knows of anything like that, I would greatly appreciate the input!

Thanks!

http://earthnow.usgs.gov/earthnow_app.html?sessionId=678bcdd31218a2f8206b55cde3f7111e58620 is a live satellite feed from the Landsat satellites. It's only live during the daylight hours and only when those satellites are over the US.

Don't expect anything like Google Earth though - this is live satellite feed with no processing done to it at all.

you won't be in a position to get stay satellite tv for pc perspectives of everywhere in the international. possibly government agencies have get entry to to stay perspectives, however the common guy or woman would not. the photographs you notice in classes like google earth are purely photographs, a lot of that are taken with the help of extreme-altitude airplane, some which come from satellites, yet they are actually not stay. There extremely isn't a lot of interest to be sure on the poles besides frozen barren region. holding any style of human presence in those extreme aspects of the Earth is rather frustrating and unsafe. there's a international treaty related to Antarctica that forestalls any united states from claiming any element of it for their very own. some international locations have study bases on the continent. definite, there are satellites that have orbits that take them over the poles. besides the undeniable fact that, not each and every satellite tv for pc has extreme magnification cameras on them to take photographs of Earth's floor purely for the edification of persons's interest. As i discussed above, most of the imagery you notice in classes like google earth comes from airplane. some come from satellites, often the stuff in extra distant aspects of the international. Why is there a loss of such imagery of the poles? nicely, if there are satellites that orbit over those aspects able to taking such photographs, it extremely is possibly that the business enterprise that runs them isn't attracted to offering that imagery to the everyday public for loose. Or, in all probability there are actually not any satellites able to taking such photographs that have the right orbit. And it style of sounds like human beings have this unusual concept that NASA controls each and every thing interior the international related to area and astronomy... like they administration each and every telescope pointed to the sky and each satellite tv for pc in orbit of the Earth. If there replaced into something to be considered at between the poles of Earth, NASA would not have this unilateral potential to hide it up all on their very own. They somewhat won't be in a position to maintain you from traveling the places your self to envision them out in case you're extremely in contact, which you're welcome to do.
