At first whenever I opened Google Chrome one tab came up (Homepage) Now for some reason a second tab opens up (Comcast). I have tried reinstaling it and it still wont go away. I believe there is a way you can do this through the settings, I just don't know how to do it. Could someone help me?

go to settings

1.search: on startup

2.You ahould see three options.

EXAMPLE:

Open the New Tab page

Continue where I left off

Open a specific page or set of pages. Set pages

3.Click set pages. Also click the third bubble in the option.

4. Once you see the popup you can delete or add pages that you want to open, it will apply when you open it again when you open Chrome.

The answer below from Deep does not work. There is only one page listed, but two tabs open when Chrome started.

Okay I've got the answer! It's not in the settings. You see that new tab page that opens up every time? Well, there's something in the bottom left corner (I'm sorry i forgot what it was called, but there's only 2 things there and it's not the app one) and you click on it. And an option is "uninstall". I had no idea what i meant, but I clicked on it, and the new tab page disappeared, and just left me with google. Sorry, it's not specific, but you should be able to figure it out!

When I don't have google pinned to my task bar and click on my desktop icon it only opens one tab. When I pinned the tab to the task bar it then opens a second tab when I click on the icon in the task bar. Then I pinned the second icon that opens on the task bar and unpinned the original icon that I pinned. Now when I click on the chrome icon in the task bar only it no longer opens the second tab. I have no idea why this worked but it seems to work for me.

Check your settings under search engines. I had 0ne Google default and another Google, I deleted the second Google search engine and now only one tab opens.
