Alright let's call my website "yahoo answers" for a example I have a Wordpress website that I was trying to work the premium theme. After messing around I created a catagory. Now bearinmind I don't have nothing on my website but the premium theme installed and of course it just shows a header and a main bar I made with it.When I created category I called it "clothing" and I wrote a fake article for display purposes. Now I guess not knowing what I was doing probably went to widgets and put a display on the empty main page or idk but the dumb "clothing" is on my main page and on google is shows a ugly link right under my real website link.It looks ugly it has a page title saying
CLOTHING/Yahooanswers.com and the URL is saying www.yahoo answers.com/category/clothing/
I don't know what to Do will this go away off of google or is is permanent even when I go to my website main page and errase the clothing article?Because the URL will just change and the link will be there all nice but having multiple website links looks ugly? There is also another link I found today! It has samplepage/yahoo.com and when I click on it has on my website main page sample page mod the article I didn't create this article it came with theme for display purposes and somehow i moved it from some, where to main page and now it has a URL link on google!

Once its indexed in Google, its permanent unless you completely delete then URL from your website. It will take some time at Google's end to update your blogs index and remove that page.

However, if you go to Google Webmaster Tools you can find a url removal request section where you can submit URLs you don't wanna appear in Google search.

If you want a better and easy solution, prevent Googlebot to crawl and index your categories using a robots.txt file.

Create a text file called "robots" with the lines below in it and upload in your blog's root.

User agent: Googlebot

Disallow: /category

Usually you create categories that apply to the topics you blog about on WordPress. It's good that the category shows up in the URL. If you don't like the category yahoo... delete or change it. Log into WordPress. Click on 'Posts'. Click on Cetegory, and edit the 'yahoo...' category title. In a few days or weeks, Google will adjust to reflect your new category in search results.

I know that I'm being extremely lazy for saying this, but Google "optimizing search results" and get something from there. By the way, I love the layout of your website EDIT: I think it's because the title of your websites are simple words like "home" and "philosophy". You'll have to be more descriptive, like "Cherub Nursery - Home". DOUBLE EDIT: Ohhh, Google Sites are usually not the best way to go. Try Weebly or something, and go from there. Good luck!
