I have a Suunto watch, do a lot of camping, hiking and traveling. I am not going to pay $400 for the premium Google Earth, but does anyone know if it would be beneficial for me to purchase the $20 Google Earth Upgrade?? Or stick with the basic "free" service? Big difference between the two? Oh, I have a Suunto X9i, if that makes any difference. I am currently not able to log on to Suunto.com so that option does me no good.
Thanks.

Stick with the free.

@trevbrat03 - MSN and Google pull from different image banks in some areas, so Google may better for one area, while MSN is better for another.

I just finished up a GPS course a few weeks ago and a similar question was raised. If the reason you want to upgrade to Google Earth Premium is to get better GPS info, don't bother. The Google Earth coordinates are still off a few degrees with the Premium service. At least that's what the instructor told us.

There's not much of a difference, not really worth it. You're best off sticking to the free version, that gives pretty good coverage and detail enough for camping and the likes :)

I stopped using Google earth and now use the Virtual Earth and the images are better and it is still free
