how is google better than yahoo?

everyones always saying that google better but I dont get how.

In the terms of searching Google is better. It also has Google Earth and You Tube. Yahoo lose in the terms of searching but gives you almost everything e.g. Y! Messenger, News and many more. But the truth is...it depends on you. It's hard for me to leave Yahoo because the first time I know the Internet was through Yahoo. Even now that I know other better ones I didn't want to leave. All the memory you done with it makes it the best for you like your mom. Don't tell me that you wanted another mom. See, it depends....

Well... Yahoo is reportedly thinking about getting out of the search-engine business. But Yahoo is more than search I suppose. I don't use it much anymore.



Google won mainly because they have that simple search page.



When Yahoo started they had a very brief, unadorned page with categories on it. The piled more and more content into it until it became annoying. Google pummeled them simply by being able to _afford_ to have a simple web page.

Being here at Yahoo site, using Yahoo's Q/A, what answer or comment do you expect from me? If Google were far far better or the best, Yahoo would stop their activities earlier. In fact, Yahoo is Yahoo, I love & feel free.

Google is a search engine and yahoo is a web community also, so basically don't try to compare those two, and further more yahoo has lots of human operators which index everything while i think Google most of them are automated. besides yahoo uses googles search capabilities also. i don't think they can be compared.

google is so popular in asia and it support languages like arabic also the google earth and stuff like this made google more popular



but am ayahoo fan since i start using internet on 1996

dont know.. i would think their search engins are better.. i always use google when i need to search for something. but i like yahoo mail over gmail.. and i like how yahoo has yahoo answers... its very helpful.

When I go onto Yahoo theres too much to look at, Google.co.uk is plain and simple yet comes up with so many results.

Because google was derived from the word googol which means 100^000 and yahoo...pretty much has no meaning.
